The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Surah Animashaun, has called on all eligible residents to participate actively in the forthcoming chairmanship election scheduled for July 12, emphasizing that civic engagement is key to sustaining grassroots democracy.
Ekohotblog reports that in an exclusive interview on Sunday, Animashaun underscored the importance of voter participation in shaping the future of the Epe community.

“I sincerely appeal to all residents of Epe to participate fully in the July 12 local government elections,” she said. “Your vote is your voice, and it is the key to shaping the future of our community.”
The council boss assured residents of her administration’s commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process, adding that security measures have been strengthened in partnership with relevant law enforcement agencies to guarantee a hitch-free election.
“Security is a top priority. We are working closely with the police and other security bodies to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the polls,” she stated.
Animashaun also used the opportunity to caution political parties and their supporters against any form of violence or electoral misconduct, urging them to uphold democratic values and decorum.
“Violence and any form of electoral malpractice will not be tolerated. We must protect the integrity of the process and ensure that the will of the people prevails,” she warned.
Encouraging broader participation, especially among women, youths, and first-time voters, she said:
“I know some people may feel discouraged due to past experiences, but I urge you to see this election as a golden opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community’s development.”
She further reiterated her administration’s commitment to responsive governance that prioritizes key areas such as infrastructure, youth empowerment, healthcare, and education.
“We are committed to delivering the dividends of democracy. Our focus remains on improving lives through sustainable projects that reflect the aspirations of the good people of Epe,” Animashaun affirmed.
