The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has refuted allegations of financial mismanagement, plagiarism, certificate forgery, and unauthorized sale of government properties leveled against her administration by a group known as Epe Young Professionals.

Ekohotblog gathers that in a statement issued over the weekend, Princess Animashaun described the allegations as “baseless, malicious, and politically-motivated,” asserting that they are orchestrated attempts to distract her administration from delivering good governance and developmental projects to the people of Epe.

“The claims being peddled are not only false but also a deliberate attempt to malign my character and derail the progress we have made in Epe,” she said. “My administration has always prioritized transparency, accountability, and the welfare of our people.”

Addressing the allegation of plagiarism, Animashaun clarified that the quotation she used in a report—originally made by former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola—is a widely known and publicly accessible statement.

“There is no merit in the plagiarism claim,” she said. “That quote has been used by many public figures and citizens alike. It is not exclusive to anyone.”

On the issue of certificate forgery, the Chairman firmly denied the accusation, explaining that all her academic credentials were duly verified before she contested for office.

“If there had been any discrepancies in my documents, I would not have been cleared to run for office,” she stated. “I encourage the public to verify my credentials with the appropriate screening bodies.”

Regarding the claims of financial impropriety, Animashaun noted that her administration has consistently provided stewardship reports and complied with all financial regulations.

“Financial monitoring agencies responsible for overseeing local government allocations have never raised any concerns about our financial management,” she said. “If any misconduct had occurred, the relevant authorities would have taken action. There has been none.”

Princess Animashaun further urged members of the public to disregard what she described as “divisive politics” and remain focused on unity and development.

“This administration will not be distracted. We remain committed to serving the good people of Epe with integrity and dedication,” she concluded.
