Epe Local Government Chairman Launches Construction of Museum and Library Centers
Ekohotblog reports that Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, has commenced the construction of a museum and library in Epe. The groundbreaking ceremony, held recently, marks a major step forward in promoting cultural preservation and education in the area.
During the event, Hon. Animashaun stressed the importance of the museum in preserving Epe’s rich cultural history. She explained that the museum will house relics and exhibits showcasing the evolution and achievements of the Epe community, allowing both residents and visitors to connect with the past.

She further highlighted the museum’s potential to boost tourism, encouraging cultural exchange and economic growth. “Opening Epe to tourism through the museum will help spread our unique heritage while boosting the local economy through tourism revenue,” she said.
The museum will also serve as an educational resource, offering local students a hands-on learning experience. Princess Animashaun expressed confidence that the initiative would inspire the next generation of leaders, deepening their sense of belonging and connection to the community.
Alongside the museum, a modern library will be constructed, equipped with both digital and print resources, including e-books and online databases. “This library will provide a collaborative learning space with advanced technology to encourage research, group work, and creative thinking,” Animashaun added.

The Executive Chairman concluded by saying that the museum and library will create a vibrant cultural and intellectual hub, benefiting locals and tourists alike. “This project will preserve our history and promote learning, creativity, and progress in Epe.”
The ceremony was attended by key local officials, including Hon. Rahmon Saheed, Secretary to Epe Local Government; Hon. Odupe Fuad Tunde, Supervisor for Environment; Hon. Rahmon Sikiru, Supervisor for Works; Hon. Lawal Bolanle, Supervisor for WAPA; Hon. Hassan Omotola, SA on Tourism and Hon. Gbabijo Olalekan, SA on Revenue.
