The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has joined the global community to mark the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child with a passionate message celebrating the strength, intelligence, and limitless potential of every girl.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in her statement, Princess Animashaun described the girl child as “the light that brightens our homes, the promise of our future, and the heartbeat of tomorrow’s greatness.”
The council boss highlighted this year’s theme, “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis,” emphasizing that girls are active participants in shaping a better world.
According to her, “Girls are not mere witnesses to progress; they are architects of change, champions of transformation, and torchbearers of resilience in every sphere of life.”
Reaffirming her administration’s dedication to supporting the growth and development of girls in Epe, Princess Animashaun stated that her government remains focused on implementing inclusive policies that promote education, empowerment, healthcare, and safety.
To inspire young girls across Epe, she added, “You are not defined by your circumstances but by your courage. You are not limited by your environment but by your imagination.
Rise, lead, and let your light illuminate the world because you are the change our generation needs.”
She concluded by calling on parents, teachers, and community leaders to work together to create an enabling environment where every girl can thrive and achieve her dreams.
