In a decisive step to safeguard Epe community from flooding and erosion, Hon. Oluwo Rasheed led the clearing of a key blocked drainage system on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Ekohotblog gathers that the effort, carried out with the full support of Epe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, forms part of a larger environmental initiative to prepare the town ahead of the rainy season.

Hon. Rasheed, known for his dedication to public service, emphasized that early preparation is critical to avoiding flood-related disasters.
He called on residents to actively support the local government’s commitment to keeping the environment clean and safe.
“We must act now, not when the rains arrive fully. Clearing our drainages is a vital part of preventing floods,” he said.
“I encourage everyone to stop dumping waste into gutters and help keep our community clean.”
He further acknowledged Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun’s leadership, saying her support has been key to making such environmental interventions possible.
“Her commitment to the well-being of Epe has motivated us all to do more for the people,” he noted.
