- Epe LG, Rotary launch free health mission and menstrual care project
- Over 200 residents to benefit from consultations, drugs, surgeries, and screenings

Epe Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has partnered with Rotary International District 9126, Rotary International District 5170, and The Rotary Foundation to launch the Rotary Health Mission & Menstrual Care Project 2.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative is designed to provide free healthcare services and life-changing interventions to residents of Epe. It will feature general medical consultations, free distribution of essential drugs, laboratory investigations, distribution of sanitary pads to women and girls, as well as specialist ophthalmology and general surgeries.

Among the surgeries to be conducted are hernia repairs, hydrocele, undescended testis, lipoma excision, ganglion excision, ingrown toenails, benign breast lump excision, skin tag and subcutaneous mass removal, as well as keloid and hypertrophic scar excision.

Screening is scheduled to hold on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th August, 2025, at Papa Primary Health Care Center, Epe, while surgeries will take place on Saturday 30th August, 2025, at the same venue.
In addition, Epe Primary Health Center will host eye and medical screening, including free eye checks for 100 patients, distribution of 100 eyeglasses, blood glucose checks, and malaria tests.

Princess Animashaun described the programme as a mission of compassion and a commitment to community health. “This project is about bringing hope, wellness, and support to our people. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger, and brighter Epe.”
She urged residents to take advantage of the free services, noting that the project underscores the council’s vision to improve the quality of life of every member of the community.
