As part of preparations for the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) conducted an assessment visit to Epe Local Government on March 5, 2025. The delegation, led by LASIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (Rtd), evaluated the readiness of the council to host a smooth electoral process.
Ekohotblog gathers that receiving the LASIEC team, the Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun FHTI, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to ensuring a seamless election. He assured LASIEC of the local government’s preparedness, highlighting the availability of necessary materials and logistical arrangements.

“Epe Local Government is fully prepared to support LASIEC in conducting a transparent and credible election. We are committed to providing the necessary resources and ensuring a smooth process for all stakeholders,” Hon. Owolomoshe stated.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Justice Ighile commended the level of preparation and infrastructure in place within the local government. She stressed the importance of collaboration between LASIEC and local authorities to uphold electoral integrity.
“Our objective is to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election across all local governments in Lagos State. Epe’s level of preparedness is commendable, and we expect a peaceful and well-organized electoral process,” she remarked.
The LASIEC visit also included an inspection of election materials and facilities to ensure compliance with the commission’s requirements. The delegation encouraged continuous voter sensitization and peaceful participation in the election process.
