Muslim faithful across Epe Division gathered in large numbers to celebrate this year’s Sallah festival with prayers, thanksgiving, and renewed calls for peace, tolerance, and unity.
At the Eid Prayer Ground in Epe, the Chief Imam of Epe Land, Sheikh Abdulkabir Oriyomi Shamradeen, led Muslim faithful in the sacred Eid prayer as worshippers from different communities within the division participated in the spiritual exercise.
Also present at the prayer ground was the President-General, League of Imams and Alfas, Epe Division, Sheikh Sadala Abiola Aliru, alongside several Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, political leaders, and dignitaries across the division.
The celebration witnessed an atmosphere of devotion, peace, and gratitude as Muslims offered prayers for the continued progress and development of Epe Division, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Shortly after the prayer session, Sheikh Abdulkabir Oriyomi Shamradeen admonished residents and Muslim faithful to reflect deeply on the teachings and lessons of Sallah, stressing that the significance of the celebration goes beyond merriment and festivities.
According to the respected Islamic cleric, the season serves as a reminder of sacrifice, obedience, compassion, tolerance, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
Speaking during the celebration, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun congratulated the people of Epe and Muslim faithful across the world on witnessing another Sallah celebration.
The monarch urged residents to celebrate responsibly, remain peaceful, and continue to uphold unity and lawfulness during and after the festive period.
Several prominent sons and daughters of Epe Division also joined residents in celebrating the occasion and extended goodwill messages to Muslim faithful within and outside the community.
Among them was Wale Raji, who congratulated residents of Epe Federal Constituency for witnessing another peaceful and successful Sallah celebration.
The lawmaker urged residents to continue embracing tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and unity, stressing the need for people across different communities to continue living together in harmony irrespective of religious or political differences.
He also prayed for continued peace, development, and prosperity across Epe Division and Lagos State.
In the same vein, Abiodun Tobun congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful celebration and wished them a joyous, peaceful, and fulfilling Sallah celebration.
Other community leaders and dignitaries also felicitated with Muslims across the division and around the world, encouraging residents to continue promoting unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.
The Sallah celebration further reflected the rich religious and cultural heritage of Epe Division as families, friends, and well-wishers gathered in different parts of the community to celebrate the festival in joy and thanksgiving.
Residents described the celebration as peaceful and well coordinated, while many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to witness another Sallah celebration in good health and harmony.
