In a move to strengthen Nigeria’s vocational education and boost youth employment, H&Y Furniture Manufacturers Limited has partnered with the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) to empower young talents in the furniture manufacturing industry.
Ekohotblog reports that the partnership was announced on Wednesday during a courtesy visit and facility tour of H&Y Furniture Manufacturers’ state-of-the-art semi-automated factory in Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos. The visit was led by the Executive Secretary of LASTVEB, Mrs. Azeez, alongside other top officials of the board.

Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director of H&Y Furniture Manufacturers, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, emphasized the importance of equipping young Nigerians with standardized vocational skills to meet global best practices.
“For Nigeria to achieve its full potential, vocational skills training must be prioritized. Through H&Y Woodcraft EPIIC Academy, we provide hands-on training that empowers young talents with the expertise needed to thrive in the furniture manufacturing industry,” she stated.
H&Y Woodcraft EPIIC Academy, the company’s training arm, is dedicated to developing a skilled workforce by integrating modern furniture technology while instilling key values such as Excellence, Partnership, Integrity, Innovation, and Customer Care.
Commending the initiative, the Executive Secretary of LASTVEB, Mrs. Azeez, praised H&Y Furniture Manufacturers for its commitment to skill acquisition and capacity-building programs. She reaffirmed LASTVEB’s readiness to support the academy by integrating its training programs into the curriculum of technical colleges under the board’s supervision.
