The theme of the lecture was “Ramadan: Spirit of Selfless Service in Building a Stronger Nation.”
The guest lecturer, Fadhilatul Shaykh Sherifdeen Ahmad, who is the Mudeer (Head) of Vanguards Academy, spoke about the true meaning of Ramadan.
He said Ramadan is not just about fasting, but also about helping others, being patient, and doing good without expecting anything in return.
He said, “Ramadan teaches us to care for others, to serve our community, and to become better people. If we all live with these values, our nation will become stronger and more peaceful.”
The Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Owolomonshe, gave a goodwill message during the event.
He praised the organizers and encouraged youths to take the message seriously and work towards unity and development in Epe and Nigeria as a whole.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Basiru Hassan advised Muslims to be more adaptable and not make Islam look hard or unfriendly to others.
He said, “Let us practice Islam in a way that draws people closer, not push them away. Islam is a religion of peace, love, and kindness.”
In his own message, Comrade Moibi Ibrahim spoke about the need for people, especially Muslims, to always check on one another.
