The administration of the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has once again demonstrated its commitment to empowering youths and promoting economic self-reliance through the presentation of an industrial tailoring machine to a young resident, Miss Kadri Oluwatosin.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the empowerment gesture, which forms part of the council’s ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurship and vocational development, was carried out on behalf of the Chairman by the Vice Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Lateef Adesanya.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Adesanya described the donation as more than a simple distribution of equipment, stressing that it represents an investment in the future of a young entrepreneur who has chosen the path of hard work and self-development.
According to him, empowering skilled youths with the necessary tools to succeed remains one of the most effective ways of reducing unemployment, improving livelihoods and stimulating economic growth within local communities.
He encouraged the beneficiary to see the industrial tailoring machine as a stepping stone to greater achievements, urging her to remain committed to learning, innovation and excellence in her chosen profession.
Drawing inspiration from the success story of renowned Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, Seyi Vodi, the Vice Chairman noted that every successful individual started from somewhere.
He explained that the fashion icon built his career from humble beginnings and, through resilience, dedication and consistency, transformed his passion into one of Nigeria’s most successful fashion brands.
Hon. Adesanya urged Miss Oluwatosin to take a cue from such inspiring success stories and remain focused on her goals.
“There was a time when people like Seyi Vodi had little or no resources to pursue their dreams. Today, he is celebrated across the country because he remained dedicated to his craft. This machine is not just a gift; it is an opportunity. It is a tool that can transform your future if you make proper use of it,” he said.
He further assured residents that the administration of Hon. Akinloye would continue to initiate programmes that create opportunities for young people and support those willing to build sustainable livelihoods through vocational skills and entrepreneurship.
The beneficiary, Miss Kadri Oluwatosin, expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the leadership of Eredo LCDA for the support, describing the gesture as timely and life-changing.
She noted that the machine would greatly improve her productivity, enhance the quality of her work and help her meet the growing demands of her customers.
Miss Oluwatosin pledged to make judicious use of the equipment and remain committed to building a successful career in the fashion industry.
Community members present at the event commended the council administration for consistently implementing people-oriented programmes aimed at empowering residents and improving their socio-economic well-being.
They observed that such interventions not only encourage self-reliance but also inspire other young people to acquire vocational skills and pursue productive ventures.
The presentation of the industrial tailoring machine is another reflection of the people-centered leadership style of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, whose administration continues to prioritize youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development and inclusive economic growth across Eredo LCDA.
As the council sustains its efforts to create opportunities for residents, stakeholders believe that initiatives such as this will contribute significantly to reducing unemployment, strengthening local businesses and fostering sustainable development throughout the council area.
