EKO HOT BLOG reports that Evans was arraigned on Thursday alongside his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, on a five-count charge of murder and attempted kidnapping before Justice Adenike Coker.
The notorious kidnap kingpin had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment in February 2022 by Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Ikeja High Court for kidnapping Chief Donatus Dunu, the Chief Executive Officer of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
In September 2022, another judge of the court, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (now retired), sentenced Evans to 21 years imprisonment for kidnapping businessman Chief Sylvanus Ahamonu and extorting $420,000 as ransom from his family.
Despite these convictions, Evans is still facing trial in two other kidnapping cases.
