EKO HOT BLOG reports that the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the development on Tuesday during a question-and-answer session at the Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee and Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Abuja.
“I have spoken with Ms. Emmanson this morning. We are also inviting the Ibom Air cabin crew for continued investigation on the incident. They will be here tomorrow,” Achimugu said.
He clarified that contrary to some reports, the pilot of the flight did not request security operatives on arrival in Lagos, as the situation appeared to have been resolved before landing. However, he noted that Emmanson went to the restroom after touchdown and eventually disembarked last.

Achimugu assured that the NCAA is determined to establish all facts surrounding the incident and take appropriate actions.
Commenting on the growing cases of misconduct within the aviation sector, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, attributed such incidents to a decline in discipline among passengers, airport staff, and flight crew.
The development comes shortly after the NCAA introduced a new directive mandating all passengers to completely switch off their mobile phones during aircraft take-off and landing. The measure, according to the agency, is part of efforts to enhance aviation safety and reduce security breaches following recent controversies.
