Retired General Christopher Musa, the newly appointed Minister of Defence and former Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 to 2025, officially assumed office on Friday at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog report that his appointment, made by President Bola Tinubu earlier in the week following the resignation of Muhammed Badaru, received Senate confirmation on Thursday.

Many observers have expressed confidence that Musa’s leadership style and military experience will bolster the nation’s defence strategy.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Musa arrived at Ship House shortly after 11 a.m. Upon arrival, he carried out the traditional inspection of the quarter guard and greeted the service chiefs and senior ministry officials.
He then proceeded into a closed meeting with the service chiefs and top directors, marking the beginning of his tenure and signalling new directions for Nigeria’s defence administration.
