Football Great, Pele, Improving After Treatment For Urinary Infection
Football great, Pele, improving after his latest visit to the hospital for what has been described as urinary infection.
The 78-year-old Brazil legend was admitted on Wednesday after a promotional event involving young World Cup winner and Paris St-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe.
In a message he posted on Twitter, Pele wrote: “The antibiotics are working and the tests are all (well). I think I’m ready to play again.”
Having been in and out of hospital for such as kidney, prostate problems and also for exhaustion last year, it is the latest incident for which medical attention is required for a man widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time.
Being the only player to have won the World Cup on three occasions, in 1958, 1962 and 1970, Pele was named Fifa’s Player of the Century and enjoys a great deal of attention in the football world despite advancing in years and suffering ill health many times in the last few years.
