Despite the ongoing political crisis in the state, the governor encouraged the people of Rivers to remain peaceful and law-abiding, assuring them that they will come out stronger.
He recalled that 10 months ago, during the start of reconstruction on the Okania-Ogbogoro Road in Obio Akpor Local Government Area, the people requested the construction of a palace.

He said, “I was touched and shed a few tears when the Royal Father said that in over 200 years, the Akpor Kingdom never had a palace. But maybe God wanted our administration to be the one to make history.”
Fubara explained that his government didn’t just build the palace but also provided a personal residence for the king. He said, “The palace belongs to everyone, but when the King’s time is over, his family will need a home. That’s why we built a personal house for him to enjoy after his reign.”
The governor urged his supporters to stay hopeful despite the current challenges, reminding them that God never starts something and leaves it unfinished.
“I know some of you feel discouraged, but I assure you that we will emerge stronger and better. Follow my path of peace because if there is trouble, we are the ones who will suffer the most,” he said.
Fubara also promised that his administration would continue to deliver people-centered projects that improve the lives of Rivers people, regardless of the challenges.
