Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has donated ₦10 million to the Aguata Anglican Diocese to support the acquisition and revitalization of the Good Hope Specialist Hospital in Isulo, Anambra State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that during a visit to the hospital on Friday, Obi presented a cheque as the first part of his donation, expressing his joy in contributing to a project that will improve people’s access to quality healthcare.

Obi continues to champion education and healthcare as critical sectors for Nigeria’s development. He stated that his decision to support the hospital was based on a personal belief that investing in healthcare is a meaningful way to uplift society.

He highlighted the success of a similar project he supported as governor at the Diocese of Amichi, which now runs one of the best Schools of Nursing in Nigeria. Obi believes the Good Hope Specialist Hospital will follow a similar path and become a “beacon of hope” for the community.
The Chairman of the Aguata Diocesan Hospital Board, M.C. Obi, who led Peter Obi on a tour, expressed gratitude for the donation.
He assured Obi that the diocese would not only use the funds effectively but also transform the facility into a comprehensive health complex.
