Eko Hot Blog reports that Rema, Asake, Burna Boy Win Big at Nigeria’s Biggest Music Night. The 16th Headies Awards took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The award show, which is considered the biggest night in Nigerian music, honored the best in the industry from the past year.
Rema was the biggest winner of the night, taking home three awards: Best Male Artist, Rookie of the Year, and Digital Artist of the Year. He also gave a memorable acceptance speech in which he called for a Nigerian music renaissance.

Asake was another big winner, taking home two awards: Next Rated and Album of the Year for his debut album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe.” Burna Boy also won two awards: Afrobeat Single of the Year for “Last Last” and Best R&B Single for “For My Hand.”
Other winners included Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Obong Jayar, and Chike. The Headies also honored several international artists, including Selena Gomez, Youssou N’dour, and Black Sherif.
