In an attempt to alleviate the economic hardship affecting the nation, former House of Representatives member Hafizu Kawu has distributed N100 million, cars, and plots of land to members of his constituency in Tarauni, Kano.

Eko Hot Blog gathered that despite not regaining his seat in the 2023 elections, Kawu stated that his commitment to the well-being of his people remains unwavering.

In addition to the financial aid, Kawu granted cash donations of N500,000 each to twenty individuals and provided brand-new motorbikes to thirty-three others.

His aim is to offer support during this challenging period of global economic transition, as many countries continue to face unique economic obstacles following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In our own situation we need to compliment the effort of our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is evolving ways and manners to cushion the effect of post COVID-19 era,” he said.

Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tarauni local government were among the beneficiaries of Hafizu Kawu’s generous gesture.

Many expressed their gratitude and pledged to work towards his election in 2027, as they exchanged pleasantries and praised Kawu’s commitment to the community.

Describing the distribution of funds, vehicles, and land as “dividends of democracy,” Kawu vowed to continue promoting entrepreneurship development within his constituency.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed by party leaders, who lamented that fate worked against him in the 2023 election when he lost to the opposition party, both in the initial vote and subsequent court rulings.
