Ekohotblog reports that residents of Itoikin Community in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA celebrated a historic milestone on Tuesday, 3rd November 2024, as the construction of the Lagbeja-Agric Road reached completion.
This remarkable project, initiated and executed under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, marks a new chapter in the development of the community.
The newly completed road, which includes interlocking paving stones, dual drainage systems, and solar-powered streetlights, is the first tarred road infrastructure in Itoikin. It is also the first road project in Ward R1, making it a historic achievement for the LCDA.
Speaking on the project, Hon. Wale Raji Anomo expressed his satisfaction with the outcome.
“This road is not just a project; it is a promise fulfilled. Our administration is committed to ensuring that every community in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA experiences meaningful development.
This road will improve transportation, enhance safety, and promote economic growth in Itoikin,” he said.
Residents of the area expressed their excitement and gratitude for the project.
Mrs. Bola, a trader in Itoikin, said, “This road is a dream come true for us. Before now, it was difficult to move around, especially during the rainy season. We thank Hon. Anomo for remembering our community.”
Similarly, Mr. Ogunleye, a community leader, remarked, “This is the first time we are seeing such a major project in Itoikin. The new road has transformed our community, and we are grateful to the chairman for his vision and dedication.”
The Lagbeja-Agric Road project highlights the LCDA’s commitment to bringing development to underserved areas.
The interlocking paving stones ensure durability, the dual drainage systems address flooding concerns, and the solar streetlights improve security and visibility at night.
Hon. Anomo assured the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin that this is just the beginning of many transformative projects his administration plans to deliver.
“Our vision is to leave no community behind. This road is proof of our commitment to equitable development,” he said.
