The Chairman of the House Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester, who represents Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, convened a high-level strategic meeting today, July 9, 2025, with key stakeholders to chart a new course for sustainable urban growth across the state.
Ekohotblog reports that the meeting brought together top officials including the Special Adviser on Urban Development, the Chairman of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), and departmental directors from relevant agencies, signaling a unified front toward innovative and integrated city planning.

Participants emphasized the importance of sustainable infrastructure, enhanced inter-agency collaboration, and leveraging technology to meet the evolving needs of the ever-expanding population.
In his address, Hon. Ogunkelu reiterated the committee’s commitment to the developmental blueprint of the state.
“Our goal is to ensure that every planning initiative is future-ready, inclusive, and aligned with Mr. Governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda. We remain focused on building a Greater Lagos that works for all”
He stressed the legislative arm’s role in driving impactful policies that support Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of a modern, livable, and economically vibrant metropolis.
