Vice-Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has approved the appointment of 11 new Permanent Secretaries to serve in various ministries across the state.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Acting Head of Service, Inyingi Brown. According to the release, the appointees are expected to bring renewed leadership and administrative experience to the civil service.

The swearing-in ceremony, according to the statement, will be held on a later date to be communicated by the government.
Meanwhile, Ibas has expressed optimism that the political tension currently affecting the state can be resolved amicably through dialogue. Speaking at an event commemorating the 58th anniversary of Rivers State’s creation held at the Government House in Port Harcourt, he stressed the importance of negotiation over confrontation.
“I believe this crisis is not beyond resolution. It is a political disagreement, not a war. And as with most conflicts, no matter how long or bloody, negotiations often provide the path to peace,” he said.

He cited global examples where even deeply rooted political and armed conflicts were eventually resolved through dialogue, urging stakeholders in the state to embrace peace and unity.
