The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to various states and formations across the country.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that this was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who explained that the postings are part of strategic efforts to strengthen internal security and combat criminal activities nationwide.
The IGP charged the newly appointed commissioners to demonstrate professionalism, provide quality leadership, and ensure the safety and security of residents in their respective jurisdictions.
“Following the recent approval of postings for Commissioners of Police to Commands and Formations across the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has charged them to uphold the principles of professionalism and quality leadership towards ensuring their various states are rid of criminal elements who threaten national security,” the statement read.
The police chief noted that the new postings take immediate effect, in line with his vision to improve leadership in key areas and enhance the operational performance of the Nigeria Police Force.
“These strategic deployments are aimed at leveraging the vast policing experience of the senior officers to drive effective policing and ensure the safety and security of citizens within their respective jurisdictions,” he added.
The IGP also assured Nigerians of the Police Force’s commitment to building a safer and more secure nation. He called on the public to continue supporting security agencies in the fight against crime.
Those affected by the new postings include:
- CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid – Borno State Command
- CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua – Cross River State Command
- CP Dahiru Mohammed – Jigawa State Command
- CP Adebowale Lawal – Ondo State Command
- CP Ibrahim Gotan – Osun State Command
- CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo – Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters
- CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin – FCID Annex, Gombe State, as CP General Investigation
The police authorities emphasised that these changes are aimed at promoting efficiency and tackling security challenges across the country.
