Nigerian comedian and content creator, Ijoba Lande, has apologized to filmmaker Funke Akindele after accusing her of underpaying him.

“Please help me. I don’t want to go to jail. Help me beg Funke Akindele,” he pleaded.
He clarified that the video circulating online was altered, and he never meant to portray Akindele negatively.
“The video people are sharing was edited. That’s not what I originally recorded. I never wanted to tarnish her image. She did nothing wrong to me,” he said.
Lande also explained that his statement about being paid ₦90,000 was misrepresented.
“The part where I mentioned ₦90,000 was cut and edited. What I actually said was ₦190,000, and I even corrected myself in the full video. But people shared only the edited version,” he added.
He emphasized that he also spoke about Akindele’s achievements in the film industry, but those parts were ignored.
He further expressed concern about a possible lawsuit from the actress and pleaded for help.
“Please don’t let this ruin my life. What if she sues me for saying I was paid ₦190,000? Where would I find money to pay for defamation?”
Earlier, in a viral video, Lande claimed he worked for Akindele at Amen Estate for a month but was paid only ₦90,000.
He admitted that he failed to negotiate his payment properly because he was eager to work with her.
“I was excited to work with Aunty Funke, so I didn’t want to appear difficult,” he explained.
He also blamed his lack of education for signing a document agreeing to the salary.
“It’s important to be educated. If I were properly educated, I wouldn’t have signed it. I thought it was nothing until the month ended, and they paid me ₦90,000,” he said.
