EKO HOT BLOG reports that Speaking during an interview with News Central on Sunday, Ikenga also rejected claims of ethnic division within the state, asserting that no group is being marginalized. He accused Ijaw indigenes outside Rivers State of fueling ethnic tensions for political reasons.
“There is no impeachment going on against the Governor in Rivers State. Not at this moment, it has not been contemplated. Nobody has made any move towards that,” Ikenga stated.
He further explained that while some Ijaw indigenes in the state support Governor Fubara, others do not align with his leadership, emphasizing that political differences should not be mistaken for ethnic conflict. According to him, some politicians are intentionally spreading false narratives to destabilize the state.
Ikenga also defended the statement made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), regarding the Ijaw ethnic nationality in Rivers State. He noted that Wike’s remarks were misrepresented and that the various ethnic groups in the state continue to work together toward development.

Fubara Impeachment
He blamed external influences for the tensions, stating, “Those who do not come from Rivers State but want to control what happens here are the real problem. The Minister of the FCT also noted that the Ijaws in Rivers State have always coexisted peacefully with other ethnic groups. It is those from outside the state who are trying to create a crisis.”
Ikenga reaffirmed that the APC remains committed to the unity and progress of Rivers State, urging residents to disregard false claims aimed at causing disunity.
