Thomas Dennerby has pointed up that it has been an enjoyable task coaching the Indian U-17 Women’s football national team since he had been given the opportunity.
The Former Super Falcons, Dennerby, said through a Facebook Live chat organized by the Indian Football Team that what makes him happier working with the Indian side now is of the fact that they are preparing to host the next FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup next year.
He explained his experience with the Indian female team and what he feels is awaiting the team in the nearest future.
“I am always happy when someone asked me to help them coach a team. It was really a challenging work this time because India has not played any World Cup before. It’s a huge tournament. I would say youth experience is good to start working with the younger ones again. Since 2005, I have always been working with senior teams. I can see that Indians girls are really playing with full passion. They really liked to play football. Their technical skills are very good. Also, players have a good reading of the game with nice ball touches. The girls are improving when it comes to fitness. I and my staff are trying to speed up the speed of the game.” He said.

He moved further to explain how he has been coping with the team since the advent of COVID-19.
“Before we left India, all the players have an individual fitness program to follow I must say that they do that very strictly. They report to my phone and the fitness coach phone every day so that I can follow what they are doing. After that, we changed the program so that they can get new drills to do. We encouraged the girls to do their personal fitness programs. We also have social media interactions with players which enables us to see each other one to two times a week.” He added.
