EKO HOT BLOG reports that the campaign, led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Obo O. Effanga, saw INEC officials and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) take to major streets of the state capital to engage directly with residents.
The sensitisation drive kicked off at the INEC State Headquarters, where Effanga, joined by Heads of Departments and staff, briefed the team before leading them to Akpan Andem Market, one of the busiest trading hubs in Uyo.
At the market, Effanga urged traders, shoppers, and passersby to take voter registration seriously, describing it as the first step in fulfilling their civic responsibility.
He encouraged eligible citizens who are yet to register, as well as those seeking transfers or replacements of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), to make use of the opportunity provided by the ongoing CVR.
“Your PVC is your voice and your power to choose leaders. This roadshow is a reminder that registration is ongoing and that everyone should be part of it. We are meeting people in their communities to ensure no one is left behind in this democratic process,” Effanga said.
The roadshow was interactive, with officials speaking directly to residents to clarify doubts and explain procedures. The Acting Head of Department for Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), Bukola Ojeme, was spotted engaging a trader in her stall, patiently outlining the registration process and addressing her concerns.

Similar interactions were replicated across the market by INEC staff and NYSC corps members to ensure widespread understanding.
