The meeting comes at a time of heightened political consultations within the ADC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Sources familiar with the ongoing consultations disclosed that party leaders are weighing several considerations before making a final decision.
One source said the selection process is being guided by factors such as political influence, regional balance and nationwide acceptability.
“They are looking at different factors, including political strength, regional calculations and acceptability across the country,” the source said.

The latest meeting between Atiku and Momodu has further fueled political discussions as stakeholders continue consultations ahead of the 2027 general election.
