EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking at a televised press briefing on Monday, Effie Defrin, spokesperson for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), said the attack demonstrated Iran’s escalating aggression, not just towards Israel, but towards regional and international stability.
“This is further proof of hostility and violence, and of the fact that Iran is a terrorist state threatening not only Israel but the entire Middle East, its neighbours, and the world,” Defrin stated.
The comments follow Iran’s large-scale ballistic missile strikes targeting US military outposts at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and several locations in Iraq. The operation, which Iran called “Blessing of Victory,” marked a significant escalation in Middle Eastern tensions.
Iranian state media said the offensive was in direct retaliation for recent American airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Iranian authorities described their missile assault as a “powerful” response to what they termed continued provocation by the United States.
On Monday evening, multiple explosions rocked Doha, the Qatari capital, with AFP journalists reporting blasts near the Al Udeid Air Base, which houses the largest US military presence in the Middle East.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air defence systems intercepted the missiles successfully, adding that no casualties or injuries were recorded.

Meanwhile, Israel has continued its military campaign against Iranian targets, following a surprise operation launched on June 13, which has since deepened the ongoing conflict between the two long-standing rivals.
