“We have apprehended those suspected of causing disturbances, and the election activities are proceeding without major hitches. I am pleased to report that sensitive election materials arrived on schedule, allowing polling to begin around 8:30 a.m. in most locations,” Zango said.

He acknowledged that there were some isolated incidents of delays caused by vehicle breakdowns and attempts by certain groups to obstruct movement. However, the presence of security forces helped maintain stability and quickly restored order.
While Zango was unable to personally identify the suspects, he revealed that the police confirmed over 100 arrests had been made and assured that those involved would face prosecution.
