President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned trips to Johannesburg in South Africa and Luanda in Angola as he awaits updated security briefings on the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack on worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement was made on Wednesday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the President has ordered the deployment of additional security personnel to Eruku and the wider Ekiti Local Government Area. He also directed the police to track down the bandits responsible for the attack on the church.
Tinubu had been scheduled to leave Abuja on Wednesday for the twentieth G20 Summit of leaders in South Africa before proceeding to Luanda for the seventh AU EU Summit.

The statement noted that the President suspended his departure due to the recent security breaches in Kebbi and the attack on the church in Kwara. He is now awaiting reports from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi on his behalf, as well as updates from the police and the Department of State Services on the situation in Kwara.
The President reaffirmed his instruction to security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the twenty four abducted schoolgirls and ensure their safe return.
