Kaduna Governor Signs N790.4bn 2025 Budget into Law
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has signed the 2025 budget into law, just 10 days after presenting it to the State House of Assembly. The budget, titled “Sustaining Transformation and Inclusive Development,” amounts to N790.4 billion, with N551.5 billion allocated for capital projects and N238.8 billion for recurrent expenses.
During the signing ceremony on Monday, Governor Sani praised the Kaduna State House of Assembly for quickly reviewing and passing the budget. He commended the legislators for their thorough budget defense process, noting that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) were called to justify their proposals.
The governor highlighted the strong collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government, despite political differences between APC and PDP members. He described the Kaduna Assembly as the best in the country for focusing on governance over politics.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, called the budget signing an important achievement. He praised Governor Sani for his close partnership with the Assembly and his focus on completing abandoned projects while starting new ones, especially in rural areas.
Liman also pointed out the administration’s increased investment in agriculture, with the sector’s allocation rising from 7% in the current year to 9.5% in 2025. He noted that agriculture contributes 42% to Kaduna’s GDP and expressed optimism that this figure will grow further in the coming year.
The 2025 budget reflects the state’s commitment to human capital development, infrastructure, and rural growth, aiming to improve the lives of residents and boost Kaduna’s economy.
