EKO HOT BLOG reports that his resignation was conveyed in a letter dated July 29, 2025, and addressed to the Secretary to the State Government. Bello stated that the decision was voluntary and takes immediate effect, though he did not give any specific reason for stepping down.
“I wish to notify you of my decision to voluntarily resign with immediate effect,” the letter read. “I wish to place on record my profound gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity afforded me to serve. Please accept the assurance of my best regards.”
Following his exit, the state government announced the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki as the new Commissioner for Information. His appointment was confirmed in a statement released Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa.

Until this appointment, Maiyaki served as the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
