The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), today received officials of the National Population Commission (NPC), led by the Controller, Mrs. Badmus, as he officially flagged off the e-birth registration exercise in Lekki LCDA.
Eko Hot Blog reports that as part of the programme, the Chairman handed over gadgets to be deployed for a three-day sensitization and training session for facilitators who will drive the registration exercise across the council.
Kasali described the initiative as a milestone in securing the future of children and strengthening national planning.
He said: “This programme will ensure that every child born in Lekki LCDA is properly captured in the national database. It is not just about registration; it is about planning for the future of our children and the country at large.”

The NPC Controller, Mrs. Badmus, commended the council’s cooperation, noting that the success of the initiative would depend on community participation.
She added that proper data collection would enhance effective policy formulation and resource allocation.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the success of the exercise in Lekki LCDA, assuring that all necessary backing would be provided.
