The Kebbi State Government, in collaboration with the Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Foundation (NANAS), has announced its sponsorship of a mass wedding for 300 couples on February 27.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, shared the details of the event, highlighting the various committees established to ensure that all lawful prerequisites for marriages in the state are met.

As part of the preparations, the state government has approved a sum of ₦54 million for the couples’ dowry.

“The administration of Gov. Idris is going to provide N180,000 as dowry for each bride from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
“Other additional items will be provided such as room furniture and foodstuffs to all the couples to consolidate their marital relationship.
