- A letter cited in the report shows Kwam1 describing himself as a bona-fide son of the Fusengbuwa ruling house

A prominent Lagos community leader, Chief Abisoye Oyeyemi Oshodi, popularly known as Balogun Eko, has openly criticised Fuji music icon Kwam1 De Ultimate over his reported ambition to ascend the Awujale throne of Ijebuland.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Balogun Eko, who serves as the Balogun of the Epetedo area, insisted that the musician has no ancestral or royal ties to Ijebuland and therefore lacks the legitimacy to contest for the revered seat.

In a video circulating online, the chief maintained that Kwam1 has no roots in Ijebu Ode. His comments followed an earlier report that the singer formally declared interest in the Awujale stool on December 3, 2025.
A letter cited in the report shows Kwam1 describing himself as a bona-fide son of the Fusengbuwa ruling house, signalling his intention to join the succession process.
Balogun Eko also alleged that Kwam1 attempted to gain the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but was turned down. He claimed this rejection contributed to the tension linked to the ValueJet incident at the Abuja airport.

Drawing from family accounts, the chief argued that Kwam1s parents lived outside Ijebuland at crucial periods. He challenged the Fuji star to identify his fathers burial site within Ijebu territory or present at least six relatives from Ijebu Ode or any other Ijebu community to validate his claim of origin.
Speaking in Yoruba, Balogun Eko said Kwam1 should remain content with his status as the unchallenged king of Fuji music and refrain from pursuing a throne for which he is unqualified. He added that President Tinubu had already advised the musician to abandon the pursuit.
According to him, many indigenes of Ijebu are reluctant to confront the singer directly. He further referenced family testimonies, recounting that Kwam1s father allegedly lived and was buried in Ilepeju Ekiti.
Balogun Eko maintained that the burden of proof rests on Kwam1, urging him not to create tension in a region that he says has otherwise remained peaceful.
