The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has officially unveiled its candidates for the 2027 general elections, presenting a total of 27 aspirants for various elective positions across the state, including its governorship candidate, Sowore Robert, and three senatorial flagbearers.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the candidates were formally issued Certificates of Return at an event held in Lagos on Saturday, marking their official emergence as the party’s standard-bearers for the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, Dele Oladeji, who is also the party’s candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, said the presentation signified the formal consolidation of the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to him, the Accord Party offers a credible alternative for Lagos residents who desire a shift from the current political leadership.
He stated that the party is driven by principles of social justice, equity, and welfare-oriented governance, with a strong focus on improving citizens’ welfare, enhancing security, and ensuring the protection of lives and property.
“Today is significant because it affirms the candidates of the Accord Party in Lagos State for the 2027 general elections. We are issuing Certificates of Return and formally presenting them as the party’s candidates for the forthcoming elections,” Oladeji said.

“Lagos residents seek a departure from the current political order, and the Accord Party possesses the vision and capacity to deliver meaningful change.”
Also speaking, the party’s candidate for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Solomon Wahab, said his ambition was driven by the need to improve governance and ensure that citizens benefit more from democratic dividends.
He called for greater accountability in government and urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and actively participate in the electoral process.
Wahab also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
Similarly, the Accord Party House of Representatives candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency, Joseph Jehoshaphat, pledged to prioritise infrastructure development and youth empowerment if elected.
He said attracting federal projects and development initiatives to the constituency would be a key focus of his representation.
In the same vein, the Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Somolu Constituency II, Abisoye Obayon, said his candidacy was driven by a desire to promote development and expand opportunities for residents at the grassroots level.
He expressed confidence that voters would support candidates with strong community ties and practical solutions to local challenges.
Also speaking, the Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Blessing Maduka-Sunday, called for greater inclusion of women in politics, describing low female representation in elective offices as a barrier to inclusive governance.
She urged more women to participate in politics and advocated policies aimed at empowering women, reducing poverty, and promoting wealth creation.
