The Lagos State Government has announced the immediate closure of the pedestrian bridge connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3 due to concerns about its structural integrity.

Osiyemi stated, “The order also mandates the contractor responsible for the initial construction of the terminal, through the Office of Infrastructure, to place concrete barriers at the entrances to the bridge.
This measure is to protect pedestrians who might unknowingly attempt to use the unsafe infrastructure.”
The commissioner further explained that the closure allows for a comprehensive structural integrity assessment of the bridge to determine the extent of repairs or reconstruction required.
While the bridge remains closed, pedestrians have been directed to use an alternative bridge located just 30 meters away.
The government emphasized its commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining the structural integrity of all public infrastructure in the state.
This development has drawn attention to the need for consistent maintenance of critical infrastructure in Lagos, particularly in high-traffic areas such as Oshodi, a major transit hub in the state.
Officials assured residents that the assessment and subsequent repair work on the bridge would be carried out promptly to minimize inconvenience to commuters.
