Lagos Inspects 8.9km Ajah Road Project, Assesses Impact On Traffic Flow

The inspection team, led by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, was accompanied by the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), officials from the Ministry of Transportation and Works, and key stakeholders within the Lekki-Epe corridor.

The primary objective of the inspection was twofold: to evaluate the extent of work completed on the vital road project and to assess the effects of the ongoing construction on traffic flow within the bustling corridor.

During the inspection, Mr. Osiyemi emphasized the state government’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the project while minimizing inconveniences to commuters and residents in the area. “We recognize the importance of this road project in enhancing connectivity and easing traffic congestion within the Lekki-Epe corridor,” he stated. “However, we are equally mindful of the potential disruptions caused by the construction activities, and we are actively exploring measures to mitigate any adverse impacts on the daily lives of our citizens.”

The commissioner further highlighted the collaborative approach adopted by the state government, involving relevant stakeholders in the decision-making process. “By engaging with stakeholders and leveraging their expertise, we can better understand the unique challenges faced by the community and develop effective strategies to address them,” he added.

LASTMA’s General Manager, who accompanied the inspection team, underscored the agency’s role in managing traffic flow during the construction phase. “Our team is working tirelessly to implement traffic management plans that prioritize the safety and convenience of commuters while facilitating the smooth progress of the road project,” the general manager stated.
