The Lagos State Government has appointed Mr Emmanuel Oluyinka Akande as the new Director of the Directorate for Citizens’ Rights (DCR), succeeding Mr Jonathan Olugbemi Ogunsanya, who has been redeployed as Director of Legislative Drafting in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the appointment was announced by the state government in a statement shared on its official X page on Thursday.

Before his new role, Akande served as Director of Civil Litigation in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
Speaking during his first interactive session with members of staff, Akande sought their cooperation and pledged to reposition the Directorate for improved service delivery.
He said his administration would prioritise training and retraining of legal and para legal personnel while reviewing existing strategies to enhance the agency’s effectiveness.
The new director also urged staff to remain committed to professionalism, hard work, smart work, wisdom and adherence to the core values of the public service.
He further appealed for unity and teamwork, stressing the need to build a stronger institution capable of delivering quality services and introducing more proactive approaches to protecting citizens’ rights.
Akande officially takes over from Mr Jonathan Olugbemi Ogunsanya, who has been redeployed to serve as Director of Legislative Drafting in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
