The theme of the festival is “A taste of Africa” and it is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 11th of December, 2022 at Muri-Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This was disclosed at a stakeholders’ engagement held at The Good Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos where Ms Olusanya added that the festival is an avenue for fun lovers to meet different people.
She said the festival will create a platform for various business people, especially Food Producers, Food Processors, and Food Lovers to interact.
The 2022 food festival will be different from others as it will serve as an avenue for participants to showcase their products and talents.
The commissioner further stressed that the festival will have a special focus on those in the food sector, as it will also showcase different African delicacies in line with the theme.
Ms Olusanya maintained that the age-long argument of which Jollof rice is the best needs to be put to rest and the food festival is an avenue to do that.
In her words, “This year’s festival will settle that score whether it is the Ghanaian Jollof Rice or the Nigerian Jollof Rice that is better. But, personally, I ate Ghanian Jollof while I was living in Ghana for eight years but I tell you, nothing beats the Nigerian Jollof delicacy”.
Present at the event was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, who said the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will continue to do its best to ensure food security in the State.
