Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu Set to Unveil Five New Roads

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will continue to fulfill his promise to upgrade infrastructure and improve transportation in the state with the inauguration of several newly completed road projects.
Eko Hot Blog reports that on Thursday, January 9, five roads in the Ikeja Government Reservation Area (GRA) will be officially opened, followed by the opening of six additional roads in Akoka, Bariga, and Gbagada on Friday, January 10.

These roads, totaling 11 in all, demonstrate Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to enhancing the lives of Lagosians through modern and enduring infrastructure.
The 4.7-kilometer roads to be commissioned on Thursday, January 9, include St. Finbarr’s Road, Asani Street, Tijani Ashogbon Street, Jagunmolu Street, Shogbamu Street, and Diya Street, which run from the University of Lagos Main Gate in Akoka to the Deeper Life Church in Gbagada.
On Friday, January 10, the five strategic roads in the Ikeja GRA will be commissioned.
These roads, which measure 6.134 kilometers, include Oba Dosumu Street, Oduduwa Way, Oduduwa Crescent, Sobo Arobiodu Street, and Sasegbon Street.
The improved drainage network in this area will help alleviate the perennial flooding that has plagued the region.

Earlier last year the Lagos State Government has announced the completion of 172 road projects across the state since Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu took office in May 2019.
Sanwo-Olu’s Special Assistant on Infrastructure Engr. Olufemi Daramola, revealed that from 2019 to the present, the Lagos State Government has undertaken interventions on 2,702 roads, covering approximately 431.32 km, using an average carriageway width of 7.3m as a baseline.
