A 40-year-old man, identified as Mr. Iheanacho from Umuoju Village, Umuelechi Obuzor in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, has been arrested by operatives of the Obehie Police Division for allegedly abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect, said to be a landlord, allegedly committed the act in September against the daughter of one of his tenants.

His arrest was made possible through the joint efforts of the Abia State Chapter of the Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation and officers of the Obehie Police Divisional Headquarters.

Confirming the development, the Abia State Director of the Foundation, Ochiegbu Marvelous Chimaraoke, said the case was reported on September 18, 2025, adding that the suspect had initially fled the area.
He disclosed that the suspect was eventually apprehended around 2 a.m. on Friday through coordinated efforts by the police and the foundation.
Chimaraoke commended the security operatives and his team for their dedication and reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to securing justice for victims of abuse and other forms of violence.
