The two fun seekers drowned on Monday after joining several people who thronged the beach for the Boxing Day celebration.
They reportedly drowned while trying to rescue another person during a failed rescue attempt of a third adult male.
The life guard stationed at the beach reported that the victims had ventured beyond the red line. Solo rescue is prohibited beyond these limits; which is why he was unable to attempt it.
LASEMA recovered the first body at a coast line, Ajah area, late Tuesday.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the remains had been bagged and handed over to the relatives of the victim.
On Wednesday evening, the LASEMA boss confirmed the removal of the second body.
“The body of the second adult male that went missing on Christmas Day was recovered this (Wednesday) afternoon,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
“It took the combined effort of LASEMA operations teams and a team of local divers to complete the recovery operations.
