LASG Pays For Forensic Examination Of Lekki Tollgate
… As Panel Stalls LCC’s Application To Gain Access
The Lagos State Government has paid forensic experts to uncover the truth of what happened at the Lekki tollgate in the wake of the #EndSARS demonstrations on October 20, 2020.
This is according to the Chairperson of the Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for victims of SARS and police brutality, Justice Doris Okuwobi, on Tuesday while ruling on an application filed by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).
Eko Hot Blog gathers that the LCC, during Tuesday’s sitting, prayed the panel to grant it access to the toll plaza in order to assess the damage done and to begin repairs.

Justice Okuwobi added that the forensic experts would have commenced work save for the holidays which made documents and exhibits which have previously been tendered before the panel unavailable to the experts.
She said: “Forensic analysis will clear a lot of issues in the incident of Oct 20, 2020, and a huge sum has been paid by the Lagos State Government for it. The desire is that the panel will unearth the truth of what happened.”
According to her, the forensic examination is expected to be concluded in 3 weeks and as a result the application of the LCC before the panel will have to await the outcome of the findings.
The panel however adjourned till January 29 for further hearing on the application.
