Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has called on residents of the Lagos East Senatorial District to turn out in large numbers and vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the upcoming council elections, Eko Hot Blog reports
Mr. Hamzat made this appeal during the APC campaign mega rally held on Saturday at Government College in Owutu, Ikorodu.

He pointed to the achievements of the APC government, noting the various improvements residents have experienced as benefits of democracy under the party’s leadership.
“Let us come out and support the party by voting for all APC candidates. Do not be swayed by negative reports. Lagos State is performing excellently; our local government chairmen and councillors are working hard for your benefit.
“You have benefited from democracy through better infrastructure, improved education, and enhanced healthcare systems.
“So, I urge you to come out en masse and support them on July 12. I assure you that APC is the right choice. Please come out and vote,” Mr Hamzat pleaded.
The deputy governor cautioned against misleading reports, asserting that Lagos is progressing and that local chairpersons and councillors are providing effective governance.
In his remarks, Akanni Seriki, a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), encouraged elected candidates to serve the public with integrity.
He also emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among party members to secure success at the polls.
“Let us unite as one and support all the party’s candidates,” Mr Seriki said.
Similarly, Abiodun Ogunleye, GAC member and former deputy governor, encouraged the electorate to vote en masse on July 12.
He advised all party faithful to actively support APC candidates at the polls.
“Let us mobilise votes for the APC,” Mr Ogunleye stated.
The rally included the official presentation of all APC chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates from the Lagos East area.
It was attended by members of the GAC, national and state lawmakers, as well as officials from the state executive council.
Also present were APC leaders from the state, local, and ward levels, along with representatives of market associations, unions, ethnic groups, and dedicated party supporters.
