EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement on Sunday, Oyedele, popularly known as Citiside, said the restriction had brought untold hardship to residents of border areas, particularly in Ogun West, describing the policy as outdated and counterproductive.
He explained that the measure, introduced in 2019 by the Nigeria Customs Service to prevent smuggling, had failed to achieve its purpose and instead deprived law-abiding citizens of access to fuel for their vehicles, homes, and businesses.
Oyedele made the call during the inauguration of several constituency projects across Ipokia Local Government, attended by Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, and other dignitaries. The projects included renovated health centres, classroom blocks, and motorised boreholes in various communities.
He urged the federal and state governments to revisit development plans for the area, including the construction of the proposed Ipokia–Badagry Link Bridge, which he said would enhance trade between Ogun, Lagos, and neighbouring West African nations.
The lawmaker also called for the immediate take-off of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, a project started under former Governor Ibikunle Amosun but left incomplete. He described it as a crucial investment in the future of Ogun youth.

Oyedele commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for supporting grassroots development and appreciated Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) for his contributions to the advancement of Ogun West.
