EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to Vanguard, sources revealed that unidentified men dressed in black and moving in two unmarked Hilux vans trailed Yarima. The vehicles, which carried no number plates, allegedly followed him from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.
The officer was said to have observed the surveillance early enough and carried out what a source described as a strategic maneuver, allowing him to escape. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:30 p.m. Investigators have begun probing the matter and authorities say updates are being withheld to avoid compromising the ongoing process.
Yarima recently came into the spotlight after a clash with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike during an operation involving security personnel at a disputed land site in Gaduwa District. The confrontation, captured on video, generated wide public reactions and led to presidential intervention that halted the demolition activity at the location.
Following the incident, military veterans across the country condemned Wike for verbally confronting the officer and strongly rejected suggestions that Yarima should face disciplinary action.
The Minister of Defence, Mohammad Badaru Abubakar, also reassured the public that no military officer performing lawful duties will be punished. He made the statement during the ministerial briefing for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations at the National Defence College, where he emphasized that officers acting within the law must be fully protected.

Badaru said officers who carry out their duties responsibly will continue to receive the backing of the Armed Forces leadership.
