LWC MD Mukhtaar Tijani Bags FNIEE Fellowship
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Managing Director of the Lagos State Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, has received Fellowship of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (FNIEE).
The LWC disclosed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The corporation revealed that the NIEE conferred the fellowship, its most prestigious honour, on Tijani at an event that held in Lagos recently.
Engr. Babatunde Oshodi FNSE, FNIEE, Chairman Board of Fellows NIEE and Engr. Nureni Adegboyega Ogunyemi, MNSE, FNIEE, conferred the fellowship on the LWC boss.
According to the corporation, its MD was awarded for his service delivery in Lagos, leadership qualities, and contributions to humanity, the engineering profession and sustainable environmental development in Nigeria.
“This is in appreciation of his relentless efforts in Service delivery in the State, Unwavering contribution to Service to humanity, Exemplary leadership qualities and Unmatched and unquantified contributions to the Engineering profession, towards sustainable environmental development in Nigeria, particularly Lagos State,” the statement reads in part.
In attendance were other awardees and dignitaries in the Society, such as Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, National Treasurer NIEE/Perm Sec LASG; Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, Rector Yabatech and Fellow NIEE; Engr. Babatunde Oshodi, FNSE, FNIEE, Chairman Board of Fellow NIEE.
Also, Prof. Ife Adewumi HOD Civil Engineering Dept Redeemers University/Fellow NIEE/Guest Speaker; Engr. Nureni Adegboyega Ogunyemi, MNSE, FNIEE National Chairman NIEE; Engr. S.M Odukoya FNSE FNIEE; Engr. Tosin Ogunmola MNSE, PMP/Fellow NIEE and Mrs.Tosin Ogunmola, among others.
NIEE, officially inaugurated and incorporated under Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in the year 1995, is a Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) which constitutes of Professional Engineers from all disciplines in Engineering who are passionate for sustainable environment.
On the other hand, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed Tijani as LWC MD in July 2023.
Before his appointment, he was the general manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB).
Tijani, an indigene of Lagos Island from the Ita-Agarawu area, attended Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara state.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in Geology from the University of Houston and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, United States.

The LWC boss further obtained postgraduate certificates in power sector regulation from the Florence School of Regulation, Italy, and the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
