Madam Sherifat Olaiya Oladipupo Laid to Rest Amid Tributes in Epe

- Madam Sherifat Olaiya Oladipupo, mother of Prof. Shola Oladipupo, was buried on January 24, 2025, in Epe.

Madam Sherifat Olaiya Oladipupo, the beloved mother of Professor Shola Oladipupo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, and the first female professor in Epe, was laid to rest yesterday, January 24, 2025, at Eid Street, Oke Òyìnbó, Epe.

She passed away in the late hours of January 23, 2025, and was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
Ekohotblog gathers that the burial ceremony witnessed a gathering of dignitaries, family, friends, and community members who came together to honor a woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and peace.
An Islamic cleric who officiated the ceremony described Madam Sherifat as “a good woman whose legacy will be deeply missed.
She lived a life of peace, unity, and compassion, always promoting peace to relationships and spreading love wherever she went.”
Her daughter, Professor Shola Oladipupo, expressed deep gratitude to attendees for their support during this difficult time.
“My mother was a trailblazer, not only as a loving and selfless woman but also as an inspiration to many in Epe are a testament to her hard work and dedication. Her legacy will continue to guide us,” She said.
Families paid glowing tributes to Madam Sherifat, with many recalling her as a peacemaker and a cheerful giver.
A close family member said, “She was a woman who always wanted to see people happy. She never criticized anyone and was a mother to all, welcoming everyone with open arms and a kind heart.”

As she was laid to rest, prayers were offered for Allah to grant her Al-Jannah Firdous and give her family the strength to bear the loss.
